Co-Constructive tool

 -ICT as Co-constructive tool

Today on 14/5/2024 we learnt about the co-constructive tool which was very eye opening for all of us.ICT makes learning more interactive and practical as if we're all working together to create something amazing. It takes a team to teach; it's not just me teaching and them listening. The most important feature is that it makes studying enjoyable and interesting for all individuals. It's similar to having a constant friend who encourages us and adds excitement to our education. In overall, the use of ICT as a co-constructive instrument has transformed teaching and learning into a cooperative experience, and I am forward to witness its future developments.

Why do we need Co- constructive tool in the classroom?

It enhances learners to construct knowledge through collaborative work.

Allows learners to co-edit, share ideas and thoughts at the real time discussions.

Encourage learner to be active and intentional learning through the collaborative constructive knowledge.

How do we integrate C0- constructive tool in teaching and learning

Construction of the ict lesson planning in google docs

Quick decision making or skeleton overview of the lesson plan using coggle it

Using free online collaborative tool

Using google slides and google sheets for collaborative learning processes.

Here we used google docs as a co-constructive tool. We were asked to create a template in google docs, appointed a leader, gave color coding for individual members and write on the topic given. Our group got the topic Impact of AI in teaching and learning.

1.Real-time collaboration: Google Docs allows multiple users to work on the same document simultaneously, promoting teamwork and communication among students or colleagues.

 2. Co-creating and editing: The platform enables users to collaborate on creating and editing documents, making it easy to track changes and revisions, fostering transparency and accountability in the collaborative process

SAMR model

Today, I learned about the SAMR model in ICT, which stands for Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition. This framework helps educators understand how technology can be integrated into teaching practices. It made me realize that simply replacing traditional tools with technology (substitution) is just scratching the surface. By moving towards augmentation, modification, and redefinition, we can truly transform the learning experience for students. The SAMR model inspired me to think creatively about how I can leverage technology to enhance learning and encourage critical thinking in the classroom. Since we are primary grade teachers, it is wise to use only Substitution and augmentation to teach students where as modification and redefinition is put into use when teaching high grade. Below is the lesson plan I designed primary children with two levels of ICT using the SAMR model integration. Lesson Plan Subject: Science Topic: Electricity and Magnetism TLM: PhET...

TPACK model

Integrating Tpack model in Primary lesson learning  We learned today how to use the TPACK model in lesson planning for primary school. It was really satisfying and thrilling. The integration of technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge the TPACK model has completely changed my approach to teaching and learning. I learnt how to  design engaging and relevant lessons for the  students when I integrate the TPACK model into my lesson planning.  I learnt that the  key advantages of using the TPACK model in today's classroom is its ability to enhance technology effectively to enhance student learning experiences. By combining technology with pedagogy and content knowledge, I  will know how to create interactive and dynamic lessons that promote active participation and deeper understanding among the  students. Moreover, the TPACK model has encouraged me to be more reflective and intentional in my lesson planning. In conclusion, integrating the TPACK m...

Middle level integration

Today we were oriented on using PhET simulation, being introduced to PhET simulation has been a game changer in approach to teaching and learning. PhET simulations are interactive, virtual tools that allow students to explore and experiment with various scientific concepts in a hands-on manner. These simulations provide an engaging and immersive learning experience that is not possible with traditional teaching methods alone. One of the major advantages of using PhET simulations is the ability to visualize and manipulate abstract concepts. For example, in physics, we tried constructing circuits using batteries, wires, and bulb. We  observed how the effects and positions of wires and batteries can alter the brightness of the bulb which help us develop a deeper understanding of the underlying principles. This visual representation makes complex topics more accessible and can spark curiosity and interest in students who may struggle with traditional textbook-based learning. Another ad...
